Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen watermelon chunks
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Optional toppings: sliced strawberries, sliced banana, granola, coconut flakes, chia seeds
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the watermelon:
Start by selecting a ripe watermelon. Cut it into small, bite-sized chunks.
Arrange the watermelon chunks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they’re not touching each other.
Place the baking sheet with the watermelon chunks in the freezer. Allow them to freeze for at least 2-3 hours or until completely frozen.
Step 2
Blend the smoothie:
Once the watermelon is frozen, remove it from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a couple of minutes to slightly soften.
In a blender, add the frozen watermelon chunks, frozen strawberries, maple syrup, and lemon juice.
Blend the ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything is well blended.
Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more maple syrup or lemon juice as desired.
Step 3
Serve the smoothie bowl:
Pour the smoothie into a bowl of your choice.
Garnish with your favorite toppings, such as sliced strawberries, sliced banana, granola, coconut flakes, or chia seeds.
Get creative and arrange the toppings in an appealing manner to make your smoothie bowl visually appealing.
Enjoy your watermelon strawberry smoothie bowl immediately with a spoon!
