Ingredients
- 250 ml milk (or a plant-based alternative like almond, oat, or coconut milk)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (about 12 g)
- 1-2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (about 20-30 g, adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional, about 1 ml)
- A pinch of ground cinnamon (optional, about 0.5 g, for an autumnal touch)
- A pinch of salt
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the Ingredients:
In a small blender, add the milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract (if using), a pinch of cinnamon (optional), and a pinch of salt.
Step 2
Blend the Ingredients:
Blend everything on high for about 20-30 seconds until smooth and well combined. This ensures that the cocoa powder fully dissolves into the milk, leaving no lumps.
Step 3
Heat the Cocoa:
Pour the blended mixture into a small saucepan and heat it over medium-low heat, stirring frequently. Warm the cocoa for about 3-5 minutes, making sure it doesn’t boil.
Step 4
Serve:
Once the cocoa is heated through, pour it into your favorite cup.
Add a generous dollop of whipped cream on top of the hot cocoa.
Sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon over it.
Serve the cocoa immediately while it’s warm and cozy!
