Ingredients
- 150g cornmeal
- 50g wheat flour
- 50g food starch
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 120g butter
- 150g quark (or plain yogurt)
- 3 eggs

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with both top and bottom heat. Grease and flour a 30cm loaf pan.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine cornmeal, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and basil.
Step 3
In another bowl, mix together the eggs, melted butter, and quark (or plain yogurt).
Step 4
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms. Use a hand mixer for a thorough mix.
Step 5
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 6
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
