About this Recipe

By: Marija

Our ancestors had relied on plants for thousand of years. Over time they have learned which plants and herbs provide values to our lives and also which have the potential to cause damage. In today’s modern times we have forgotten to think independently and to help ourselves like our ancestors did when they had no other ways.

Honey, rosemary and sage will smooth your throat and fight the bacteria. They are a natural cough suppressant. Onions contain sulfur compounds and possess antibacterial and antiviral properties. Lemons are a good flavor enhancer and are rich in vitamin c.

This syrup contains no alcohol and is therefore also good for children that are older then one year. Don’t give it to children younger then 12 months because of the high levels of sugar in honey and the bacteria that honey contains, which can lead to botulism. This can make the children seriously ill.
