Ingredients

  • For the dough:

  • 220 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 100 g sugar
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 80 g butter

For the pudding:

  • 1 packet of pudding powder (38 g)
  • 50 g sugar
  • 500 ml milk

For filling and decoration:

  • Berries (e.g., raspberries, strawberries)
  • Apricots (from a can)
  • Mandarin oranges (optional)
  • Powdered sugar

    Step by Step Instructions

    Step 1

    For the dough:

Mix the lukewarm milk with the dry yeast and sugar, and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then add the flour, pinch of salt, egg, and butter, and knead into an elastic dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for 2 hours.

    Step 2

    Meanwhile, prepare the pudding:

Mix the pudding powder with sugar in 100 ml of milk. Bring the remaining milk to a boil and add the pudding mixture, stirring constantly. Transfer the pudding to a bowl, cover, and chill in the refrigerator.

    Step 3

After two hours, knead the yeast dough again and divide it into small pieces. Shape the pieces into blossoms by forming one small ball in the middle and arranging six smaller balls around it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, sculpting them into flower petals. The size and the number of the blossoms can vary depending on the desired variation of the dough.

Cover the blossoms and let them rest for 15 minutes to rise further.

    Step 4

Mix one egg with a tablespoon of milk and brush the blossoms with it.

    Step 5

Fill the center of each flower with pudding and garnish with berries, apricots, or mandarin oranges.

Bake the blossoms in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

    Step 6

Garnish with powdered sugar and the remaining pudding.

    Enjoy your Easter Blossoms!
